Our giant countdown timer made up of neon lightsaber collectibles now reads at 160 days to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

And if you're not excited now, wait until you see some of this behind-the-scenes footage.

Here's a few highlights:

 - That rumour about Simon Pegg being on set? Confirmed.

 - The amount of practical effects and sets they're using is insane.

 - First look at Domhnall Gleeson (sans beard) on set. Still no idea who is character is. We heard a rumour that he's a baddie, but that's about the height of it.

 - Adam Driver's character, Kylo Ren, looking all sorts of moody as he walks down the plank with a load of Stormtroopers. Nice call-back to Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi, we think.

 - Daisy Ridley in an actually-moving Millennium Falcon cockpit. That actually moves. Incredible.

 - Harrison Ford in full Han Solo get-up, looking all sorts of angry, and Carrie Fisher in full Princess Leia get-up, looking all sorts of lovely.

Enough with the highlights and watch the video.

WHY ISN'T IT DECEMBER 18TH NOW.

Also, the way they talk about Star Wars has us all sorts of emotional. You really can sense the love for it when you hear the actors, crew members and so on when they talk about it.

It's going to be so good. We can feel it.

We've also more or less got it confirmed that there'll be no new trailer or official footage coming from The Force Awakens until late September, early October.

Not only that, you won't be hearing anything about the Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One, any time soon either. Why's that, you might ask?

Lucasfilm and Paramount - and this is actually true - entered into a Gentlemen's Agreement where Lucasfilm wouldn't publicise any material about Rogue One during the lead-up to Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.

Yup. Because apparently people might confuse Rogue One with Rogue Nation.
