Since his breakthrough role in Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan, Vin Diesel’s career has been consistently on the up and up. He now has three major franchises under his belt including The Fast and Furious Film series, The Chronicle of Riddick series, and the xXx films, and is widely acknowledged as one of the coolest actors out there.
We chatted with Vin Diesel about his return to the role of Xander Cage in the new xXx movie. The first xXx film was out 15 years ago and its sequel, State of the Union, went without him - but now Xander is back with a bang.
Vin talks about the joys of making the movie and working with the diverse cast.
He has quite a year ahead of him, with Fast and Furious 8, aka The Fast of the Furious, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (in which he plays Baby Groot, who looks adorable from the trailers) in the upcoming months, and he told us some of what’s to come in the movies.
Most surprisingly of all, Vin told us about his Irish descendancy (who knew?), shooting in Wexford, and taking his mammy to visit Ireland – he really is an Irish lad! Last but not least, Vin reveals his favourite movie.
