WATCH: Benedict Cumberbatch's Smaug in The Hobbit TV spot

Benedict Cumberbatch is making quite a name for himself playing some of this year's best villains - OK, we know, it's not yet confirmed that he's Khan in Stark Trek 2 but we reckon it's a safe enough bet at this stage. One role we're damn sure of is his voicing of Smaug, the dragon wreaking havoc in this month's highly anticipated The Hobbit. In this new TV spot - if you watch very carefully, probably twice so you don't miss it - you can see a brief glimpse of the dragon swooping in over a city to stir some sh*t. Peter Jackson's take on The Hobbit centres around Bilbo - Martin Freeman - and his dwarven pals who set out on a journey to reclaim the dwarves' ancestral home (full of treasure, no less) where Smaug has barged in and made a cosy little nest for himself. The bastard.
