Tom Green To Direct Monsters Sequel
Tom Green is to direct a sequel to the lowkey, but really rather lovely film, Monsters, says Shocktilyoudrop.com.
Not the very funny, abstract comedian Tom Green, though, oh no - sorry should've made that clearer. But rather regular helmer of the popular E4 series, Misfits. The original film was a shockingly low budget love story, with giant big aliens as a backdrop. I say shockingly because the effects are gorgeous and the budget was, literally, next to nothing. Director Gareth Edwards impressed industry folk so much with his work he was subsequently hired to direct a big-budgeted reboot of Godzilla. This sequel will centre on a guy go goes looking for his brother in the quarantined area; said sibling is apparently a bit of a Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now.
The flick is working under the title Monsters: Dark Continent.
