"It's got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eyes. When he comes at you, he doesn't seem to be living. Until he bites you."

It's one of the most well-known speeches in film history and it's an unbelievable true story.

The massacre of the USS Indianapolis was one of the worst shark attacks in recorded history, with an incredible story that followed after.

Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey, the brains behind production house Team Downey, have hired The Help director Tate Taylor to take on the fate of the Indianapolis speech.

An 11-year old student, in 1996, watched Jaws and was inspired to research the history of the event for a school project.

His work uncovered new facts about the massacre, including Captain James McVay's unjustified court martial.

There's no cast confirmed as yet, but Team Downey are eager to get the film into production as soon as possible.

It's a truly fascinating story and one that has been the subject of several documentaries and a made-for-TV movie.

The as-yet-untitled film is expected sometime in 2017.
