When you sit down and assess the numbers that Frozen has done, it's truly mind-boggling.

Between the soundtrack, the DVDs, the box office returns, the merchandise, Frozen is simply a juggernaut that hasn't been seen in many years.

Despite all this however, Disney hasn't been quick to get a sequel into action any time soon.

In a recent interview, director Chris Buck and producer Peter Del Vecho spoke about what's next for Olaf and Elsa.

"It's certainly out there. People have expressed an interest in it, even within the company. We're not actively working on it at the minute, though."

This is the first real news we've had on a Frozen sequel since Idina Menzel erroneously mentioned that there was a sequel on the way. She's since corrected her statement, saying that she misspoke and assumed there was in the works.

To be fair to Menzel, everyone pretty much expected a sequel right away. Considering that Frozen has surpassed the BILLION mark comfortably, a sequel is bound to do equally well.

The closest we'll get to a sequel is a short film, entitled Frozen Fever, that'll play in front of the upcoming live-action Cinderella movie.

Kenneth Branagh will be in town for this year's Jameson Dublin International Film Festival to host a gala screening of Cinderella, with Frozen Fever showing beforehand.
