Derek Kolstad, who penned the first two movies, has been signed on for the third installment which is due to start shooting in the autumn.

It is expected that Keanu Reeves will reprise his role as the titular character, retired hitman John Wick. In a bid to keep the creative team together, producers hope that director Chad Stahelski, who directed 'Chapter 2' and co-directed 'Chapter 1', will also join the project.

The first two Wick installments were critically and commercially successful, taking in over $250m at the global box office.

Writer Derek Kolstad is also working on a John Wick comic book series and recently released a virtual reality video game called 'John Wick: Chronicles'.
