It was not a good weekend for The Divergent Series, as the first part of the final two films Allegiant, opened to a series low $29.1 million - indicating that folks are damn sick of Hunger Games type flicks and the shite CGI that goes with them.

The last film in the series, Insurgent opened to over $52 million. There is still another film to come as studio Lionsgate did the aul' splitzies and chopped the final film in two.

Disney animated flick Zootopia continued to rule the roost with a further $38 million, taking its domestic gross past $200 million; while Jennifer Garner religious themed flick Miracles from Heaven took a strong $15 million having picked up a rare 'A+' from cinemagoers. This basically means the real life drama should show strong legs thanks to word of mouth.

This week sees the launch of franchise anchor Batman V Superman, which is expected to pass $100 million in its opening weekend. Reports are that it will have to shoot past $800 million globally to make a profit, though...
