As we've been following the story for some time, there's been talk that God Particle - the supposed next film in the Cloverfield franchise / shared universe / whatever - is apparently going to shift to Netflix rather than appear in cinemas.

So far, neither Paramount nor Bad Robot - the production company behind the Clover-verse - have issued statements on it, however it appears now that a fourth film is expected to be added and has already completed production. Overlord, which was announced way back in March of last year, will be set during World War II and will focus on a Nazi experiment that may or may not have something to do with aliens or the supernatural.

The film will star Wyatt Russell, Game of Thrones alums Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) and Pilou Asbaek (Euron Greyjoy), Bokeem Woodbine and Orange Is The New Black's John Magaro, and see a group of paratroopers dropped behind enemy lines and stumbling onto something they shouldn't have.

As mentioned, the rumours surrounding the whole Clover-verse and the fact that they're generally shrouded in secrecy means that it's difficult to get any kind of confirmation on it beyond rumours and sources - so while Overlord is scheduled for a late 2018 release date and God Particle is due to be released in the next three months, there's still no way of knowing if any of this is actually going to see a cinema release.

Here's /Film's initial report on Overlord.
