Considering that Hugh Jackman has stated repeatedly and emphatically that Logan is his last go-round with Wolverine, it's not surprising to read that his performance is one of the best parts of the film.

Logan screened at the Berlin International Film Festival and the early reviews are beginning to seep out, with many calling it a masterpiece. One outlet - Forbes - even claimed that Logan could be the first comic-book film to receive a Best Picture nomination.

THR's Sheri Linden called Logan "an affectingly stripped-down standalone feature, one that draws its strength from Hugh Jackman’s nuanced turn as a reluctant, all but dissipated hero," while Entertainment Weekly's Chris Nashawaty called it "both the most violent film in the series and the most sentimental one. When it’s not showering you in blood, it’s trying to make you spill tears."

Forbes' Mark Hughes, meanwhile, called it "one of the true great films of the superhero genre, among the best films of 2017 to date, and a rousing send-off for the old guard while ushering in the future of the X-Men franchise." Indiewire's David Ehrlich compared it to Alfonoso Cuaron's Children Of Men, saying that "Jackman’s snarling embodiment of the comic book cover star was built to survive Brett Ratner sequels, recover from Will.i.am cameos, and elevate solid action fare into the pop culture firmaments."

We'll have our own review up on site from tomorrow afternoon, so fingers crossed it lives up to the hype.
