It seems kind of weirdly fitting in the hellscape that is Donald Trump's presidency that probably the most idealistic (and some would say unrealistic) shows about politics is doing a live-read of a film that's about one of the darkest periods in recent American political history.

The cast of The West Wing - that's Bradley Whitford, Joshua Malina, Richard Schiff, Ed Begley, Jr. and Jeff Perry - are performing a live-read of the screenplay for All The President's Men, the Oscar-winning screenplay by William Goldman of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein's book.

The precise cast hasn't been announced - but we're going to take a bet and say Joshua Malina's going to be Bernstein, Bradley Whitford's going to be Woodward, Richard Schiff's going to be Ben Bradlee, Ed Begley. Jr's going to be Hugh Sloan and Jeff Perry would make a great Deep Throat / Mark Felt.

If you happen to be in Los Angeles next week, January 27th, the event takes place in City Hall and is free and to support the Society of Professional Journalists.
