As one of the most exciting occasions on the filmic calendar, this Friday sees the 50th Annual New York Film Festival get under way. What's even more exciting though is the news that festival goers can look forward to a cast reunion for cult movie "The Princess Bride" at said festival. Can you believe it's 25 years old? Written by William Goldman from his book of the same name, the story of The Princess Bride unfolds like a classic old tale - read to a sick little boy by his sweet cheek-grabbing grandfather - with all the notable fairy tale tropes present: you've got your swordplay, some giants, an evil prince, a drop dead gorgeous princess and more...

For those of you lucky enough to be in the Big Apple during this time, those of you with the movie's posters plastered over your box room wall, the film will be screened on October 2nd with its director Rob Reiner (When Harry Met Sally), Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Billy Crystal, Carol Kane, Mandy Patinkin and Chris Sarandon all in attendance for a post-screening chinwag.

This marks both the 25th anniversary for the much loved comedy/fantasy flick as well as its Blu-Ray DVD release. The New York Film Festival will run from Sept. 28-Oct. 14.

Vizzini: HE DIDN'T FALL? INCONCEIVABLE.
Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
