No, no Power Rangers...we're sorry about that, but the point is that the movie has been pushed back.

The good news, in case you missed it before, is that there is a Power Rangers movie in the works, which will bring the nostalgic, over-acted children's show that we all loved to the big screen, but the bad news is that it has been delayed.

Lionsgate, who are the company backing the movie, announced a number of release dates recently that included some bad news for those hoping to see the Power Rangers movie sooner rather than later, as it has been pushed back to 2017.

Originally slated for July of 2016, the movie will now be released in January of 2017, but there were some other details included in the release as Dean Israelite, the man behind Project Almanac, will be in charge of this one. There is some good news however, as Uproxx report that the summer of 2016 will still see some big movies from Lionsgate, including another Hunger Games and a sequel to Jason Statham's Mechanic. What? Everyone loves Jason Statham.

For now, we'll just have to make do with that gritty short movie that was online recently and got people pretty excited about a movie of some sort that would give the franchise a reboot.
