The Hunger Games has officially launched worldwide, and early grosses are the blockbuster numbers that had been predicted for weeks.

Pictures of teen girls lining up around the blocks of cinemas all over the world have been saturating the internet, with Australia the earliest to report grosses. The numbers there are rivalling, and sometimes bettering that of far bigger budgeted likes of Iron Man. Early weekend projections are putting it in the $125 million domestic bracket, which is crazy give the sub $50 million budget. The main issue, Deadline are saying, is that cinemas need to find more people to work continuously to cover the shifts.

It's now in Irish cinemas, and available for your viewing pleasure.
