Reports this morning are saying that Sony Pictures are planning on moving ahead with the sequels to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake, despite what some claim to be "disappointing" box-office figures.

The movie has clocked $60 million at the US box-office so far, off of a big $90 million budget. But sources are saying that Sony hopped the film could be another blockbuster series along the same lines as The Da Vinci Code. Given the age restriction on 'Tattoo' in the US, compared the shamelessly broad 'Code' I doubt anyone expected similar grosses. The plan was apparently for David Fincher to direct the two sequels back-to-back, but it's not clear if that's still happening. The most talented director of his generation (YEAH I SAID IT!) is also being linked to the much mooted Angelina Jolie starring blockbuster, Cleopatra 3D

I really liked Tattoo; I thought, despite the subject it was something a little different for Fincher. It's on wide release in Ireland now.
