Taylor Kitsch Has A Need For Speed

Taylor Kitsch has not had a good summer. After the box-office failure of both John Carter and Battleship, he recently swore off blockbusters - most recently starring in Oliver Stone's violent drama, Savages. But now he's apparently been offered the lead role in the video game adaptation, Need for Speed.

According to Zap2it, the former TV star was offered the lead part in the film being directed by helmer of the surprise hit, Act of Valour, Scott Waugh. Kitsch's people are apparently "considering" the offer. Waugh is a former stuntman with a tonne of experience in Hollywood. 

No word on a possible plot, but the video game involves car chases and racing and whatnot. Who knew with that title?
