If you're reading that headline and you're thinking to yourself, "Wow, there must be a gas leak in that office" or something to that effect, you'd be forgiven for doing so.

In fact, after reading Taika Waititi's announcement on the subject of his upcoming anti-war satire 'Jojo Rabbit', we checked the radiators just to be sure. The director of 'Thor: Ragnarok' and 'Hunt For The Wilderpeople' will bring his unique blend of comedy to bear on one of the most unfunny things on the face of the planet - fascism and Nazi Germany.

The film will focus on a young German boy who has an imaginary friend in Adolf Hitler, played by Taika Waititi, and if that's not weird enough for you, he's lined up a cast that includes Rebel Wilson, Sam Rockwell and Scarlett Johansson. In the announcement statement, Waititi said that he's "stoked" to begin shooting the anti-war satire.

"We’ve assembled an incredible cast and I couldn’t be more excited to finally ridicule Nazis and their beliefs. This film is going to piss off a lot of racists and that makes me very happy," said Waititi. Sure, pissing off Nazis is always fun and making them afraid is just as good as making fun of them, so we're all for this.

Still, the imagery of Taika Waititi playing Hitler is going to be difficult to wrap your head around. No release date has been set for 'Jojo Rabbit'.
