A stunt driver, named as Joi “SJ” Harris, has died on the Vancouver set of Deadpool 2.

According to a report by CTV in Vancouver, the stunt driver lost control of her motorcycle, drove off the set and into a window pane across the street at Shaw Tower. According to one eyewitness, the stunt driver did a couple of practice runs down a flight of steps on her motorcycle and, on the final attempt, the motorcycle sped out onto the road and narrowly missed nearby pedestrians.

Since the accident, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to offer condolences to the stunt driver's family. "We're heartbroken, shocked and devastated but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them – along with each and every person she touched in this world." In a statement released to media, director David Leitch said that he was"deeply saddened by the loss of one of our stunt performers today."

"No words can express how I and the rest of the Deadpool 2 crew feel about this tragedy. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and loved ones in this difficult time." The accident is now under investigation by WorkSafeBC and Vancouver police.
