The appearance of Supreme Leader Snoke in The Force Awakens caused much heated debate as to his true identity.

Was it someone we had met or heard of previously? Was it the dramatic return of an ancient Sith Lord? There was even a rumour that it could be Darth Plagueis or Palpatine.

If you're hoping to learn much more about Snoke in The Last Jedi, then sadly you're going to be disappointed. According to Vanity Fair's David Kamp the new release will give fans few definitive answers. Here's what he had to say in a recent Reddit AMA:

"I asked (director) Rian Johnson about Snoke- Who/What is he?- and Rian was fairly up front in saying that Snoke is not a character he particularly gets into in TLJ."

The good news is that it gives us more time to speculate and come up with new theories about the Supreme Leader. It couldn't be Grand Moff Tarkin, could it?
