As Captain America: Civil War nears its release, more and more details are emerging about both the plot and, specifically, what Spider-Man's role in the story will be.

As we know, Tom Holland has been cast as the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man and we've a pretty good understanding of what role he'll play in Civil War - but what else? What about his age? Will Uncle Ben feature in this version? What's his suit gonna look like?

We can now answer some of those questions. It's now been revealed by Jon Watts, who's handling the next Spider-Man standalone film, that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of Spidey will be quite young. More younger, in fact, than we were expecting. Watts revealed that the MCU's version will be that of a 15-year old Spider-Man and will firmly contrast Tony Stark's older, more worldly attitudes to Peter Parker's more optimistic, idealistic viewpoint.

Watts spoke about how they're planning on inputting Spider-Man into the series as a whole, and how his version of the classic character will be different from previous iterations. "There are only so many times that you can kill Uncle Ben. I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high-school movie. We’re really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He’s just 15 now," explained Watts in a recent interview.

It's also been confirmed that Holland has filmed his scenes for Civil War and will have a "small, supporting role" in Civil War. However, we won't see a new Spider-Man standalone film until July 2017.

Meanwhile, we know Marisa Tomei has been confirmed to play Aunt May, however there's no word yet on who'll play Uncle Ben. Our choice? Somebody like Jon Berenthal, although we know he's playing The Punisher in the next season of Daredevil - so that's out. Nicolas Cage, maybe?

What? We're serious.
