It was just on telly the other night so it was. Zombieland is still an absolute blast and was a huge success for funding studio Sony when it was released five years back.

Wonderfully directed by Ruben Fleischer from an ace script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (who have also penned the upcoming Deadpool), it was one of those rare occasions when horror, comedy and action blended perfectly. Also, the cast were deadly. But there in lies the problem.

Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg are all heavily in demand at the minute and had no interest in a sequel when it was first mooted, but Sony are pressing forward anyway.

Dave Callaham (Godzilla) will pen this script while Fleischer will return to helm, having last directed the poor Gangster Squad.
