Robin Williams Signs Up For The Butler
Robin Williams has signed up to play the role of President Dwight D. Eisenhower in The Butler.
The Butler is based on the true story of White House butler Eugene Allen who served eight American Presidents over three decades.
The film which is directed by Lee Daniels is set to begin shooting later this month. Danny Strong wrote the film alongside Daniels after reading an article in the Washington Post about Allen. Williams will be joined by Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Vanessa Redgrave, Terrence Howard, John Cusack, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda and Colman Domingo.
