The 16th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Film Awards have announced Dreamworks Animation's  'Rise of the Guradians' will receive this years 'Hollywood Animation Award' at the lavish ceremony to be held on the 22nd October and the movie hasn't even been released yet.

Rise of the Guardians is based on the highly aclaimed children books series by Oscar winner William Joyce and is set to be huge when it is released on these shores later this year. Directed by Peter Ramsey 'Rise of the Guardians' stars Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher and Jude Law.

Speaking about the award Executive Director of the Hollywood Film Awards Carlos de Abreu said 'It is a great pleasure to recognize 'Rise of the Guardians' as the recipient of our animation award. This piece of Avant-garde animation style surely will be another classic for generations to come.'

Rise of the Guardians sees Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, The tooth fairy, Jack Frost and the Sandman all come together to form a united front against the Bogeyman. The film generated huge enthusiasim at Cannes this year when just 25 minutes were shown. Speaking about the film Joyce said 'I feel like it’s a good movie. We all felt really strongly about it but for people to start embracing it before it even comes out and to find it award worthy, it’s like Santa came early'

Rise of the Guardians is released on the 30th November and is definitely one to watch out for.
