  • Can you tell us anything about your future film Broken City ?

    Just that we just finished shooting. Takes place in NYC. Russell Crowe plays the mayor. Catherine Z Jones plays his wife. I play a detective.

  • If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be and what would say to them?

    It would have to be with Jesus and I would tell him take me with you.

  • Do your kids have any interest in stepping into your actor's shoes?

    I hope not. I would like them to become real professional people. But we will see what happens.

  • the worst rumour about you?

    I don't know.

  • Any plans to direct?

    Yes. In the near future.

  • Do you enjoy the travel associated with promoting movies?

    Sometimes but it is hard being away from my family.

  • Are you going to be around town today or are you on a tight schedule?

    Unfortunately on a very tight schedule.

  • What did Bale eat during the filming of The Fighter?

    Crack. No he didn't eat much of anything.

    No. Maybe when I was in jail.

  • Have you watched any of the Oscar short movies?

    I haven't. But I will.

  • What's the most annoying question you've ever been asked? (apart from this one!!) :)

    There are so many. Australia wouldn't stop asking why I was removing my tattoos. (does Aussie impression)

  • The Fighter was excellent. Did you spend time with Micky Ward before making it?

    Of course the guy lived in my house! We spent lots of time together.

  • do u do your own stunts?

    Only when asked to.

  • The Oscars are coming up on Sunday - are you rooting for any film in particular?

    I know who is going to win all the awards. The Artist will scoop. Viola Davis will win and Octavia Spencer too. Christopher Plummer. Clooney and Streep have a shot.

  • What's your favourite movie? :)

    Head Hunters. It's a new movie.

  • Why u decided to be an actor?

    Because the toe truck job wasn't paying much.

  • what's your favorite pizza topping??

    Pepperoni. Not a big pizza eater!

  • Did your time in jail change your whole attitude to life?

    If that doesn't change you then there is something wrong!

  • Who'd win in a fight? You in the fighter or DeNiro in Raging Bull?

  • What made you choose Adrian Grenier over Colin Egglesfield for the part of Vincent Chase?

    Who's Egglesfield? I wanted him but everyone else wanted Grenier.

  • Will there be an Ari Gold spin off?

    No.

  • Would you ever consider a role in a sitcom? 2 or 3 episodes as a guest star?

    Maybe.

  • Was it difficult to find the right actor for Ari Gold?

    Jeremy Piven was always the only choice.

  • Has there been any development on the Departed sequel?

    No.

  • Why are you getting your tattoos removed?

    For both personal and professional reasons.

  • Was other guys as much fun to make as it was to watch ?

    More fun it really was. That was a movie that we had the best time making. I started out shy and it just encourages you to get crazy. Once you get crazy you can't stop! Total chaos the whole time. Really fun movie.

  • I believe you have a tattoo of Bob Marley, doy uo have more? Intend to get more?

    No I'm actually removing all my tattoos. Don't get tattoos. (He's showing his tattoos to us now)

  • Who would win in a Wahlberg, Damon, Affleck Boston smackdown?

    Please.

  • What is the most hardest part in acting?

    Probably just the amount of time that it takes to make a movie. The schedule. 12 15 hour days and shoots.

  • After the success of Entourage and the underrated How To Make It In America, have you any other tv projects lined up?

    Yes. Quite a few. Couple that we are close to shooting.

  • Giovanni Ribisi is kind of terrifying in Contraband, & always seems quite intense on screen - what's he like to work with, is he method?

    He is a method actor but he is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet so it's fun to see him go from that to turning on this character.

  • U said you dont't do sequels, why not?

    Well if you can make it better than the original movie I'd be interested. But the scripts have never been that good. I really feel if it can't be as good or better then it is not worth it!

  • Are you a Father Ted fan?

    Never heard of it!

  • Do you hope to work more with your brother Donnie in future? Anything lined up?

    We may work together in the future but nothing lined up right now.

  • if u could change one thing about urself what would it be and why?

    The ability to change more than one thing.

  • Will there be a max Payne 2 in ur future ?

    Not in my future. I don't do sequels. I haven't so far.

  • Any chance of Entourage coming back?

    No. It became far too expensive. Never thought they would get there.

  • What was the most challenging role for you as an actor so far in your career?

    They were all challenging in different ways.

  • what irish actors and directors working today do u admire?

    Um Jim Sheridan. John Moore. Gabriel Byrne. Fionnula Flanagan. She's a sweetheart.

  • whos your favourite irish person?

    That's a tough question. Probably Father James Flavin.

  • who is your favourite actor? and why?

    James Cagney. Because he reminds me of my Dad.

  • Actress you would most like to co-star?

    Meryl Streep.

  • Whats your favourite junk food?

    Ghiradelli chocolates with caramel inside.

  • You've played as a boxer and a football player. Favorite sport?

    To play right now it's Golf. I love boxing, football, basketball, baseball and hockey.

  • Have heard brilliant things about this new movie with SethMcFarlane - TED - tell us more about it!!!!!

    It's the sickest movie ever. It's so crazy. That's it! Very very offensive as well. It's so out there. My wife saw it and was like what the hell is this. She loved it though. He really pushes the envelope.

  • If you could pick any 3 locations in the world to film in which would you pick and why?

    LA - I live there. Barbados and I'd like to make a Golf movie here in Ireland.

  • Wanna go for pint?

    I don't know when I will be able to go out with all this work. I would love to though.

  • what is the worst job you ever did

    Um I had a lot of bad jobs. Actually working in the kitchen in jail. That was the worst.

  • Do you ever miss the music career and would you ever do it again?

    No and no.

    Absolutely not I hate musicals!

    Overrated

  • As a producer, what kind of projects do you seek out and how involved are you as a producer?

    Um I am looking for all kinds of different projects. If it's a film I'm far more involved than a TV show.

    My brother Donnie.

    We leave in the morning to go to Paris.

    My favourite movie was probably Broken City which hasn't come out yet with Catherine Zeta Jones.

  • What was it like working with Kate Beckinsale?

    It was lovely. She's so easy to get along with and very commited to the work. Her first day she had to be wrapped up in plastic and wrapped up in cement!

  • Why did you want to remake this?

    I just saw the original and I thought it was fresh and original take on the heist thriller and I thought the way it was executed was interesting. There is a shortage of itneresting different movies coming out of Hollywood. It was a treat!
