Cult horror fans will know that the soundtrack to Dario Argento's 1977 slasher Suspiria is considered as one of the greatest ever made.

Argento used Italian prog-rock band Goblin to create a weird, unsettling score that blended synths with rock and made for some trippy moments throughout the film. In other words, Thom Yorke of Radiohead has a hard act to follow. It's been confirmed by Variety that Yorke will be scoring Luca Guadagnino's remake of Suspiria, and has begun work already.

Yorke, of course, isn't the only Radiohead member who's worked on soundtrack. Jonny Greenwood was responsible for the haunting soundtrack for Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood, whilst Radiohead as a whole have featured on soundtracks such as Christopher Nolan's The Prestige and the most recent season of Black Mirror.

There's no word yet on when the Suspiria remake will hit cinemas, but the cast is said to include Chloe Grace Moretz, Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson, Mia Goth and the original star of Suspiria, Jessica Harper.

Here's the trailer for the original, which incidentally features some of Goblin's soundtrack.
