Podcasts: Enter Kirsten Sheridan's Dollhouse and meet Sightseers Ben Wheatley and Steve Oram
This week in our movie themed podcasts, we've got two great chats!
First up Kirsten Sheridan (daughter of Jim Sheridan), sat down with our reviewer Gav to talk all things Dollhouse. Kirsten wrote and directed the film, which explores a night in the life of a group of street teens from Dublin’s inner city who break into a house in an upper class suburb. Gav headed down to The Factory in Dublin to discuss Ireland's first improvised movie and the challenges of keeping secrets from a young and eager cast. Has Kirsten discovered some future stars? Does her film say more about life than we think? Listen in to find out!
But that's not all! Gav also caught up with Ben Wheatley and Steve Oram to talk about Sightseers. Steve both wrote and starred in the movie, which Ben Directed. Sightseers follows a seemingly normal couple who embark on a killing spree while on holidays in the British Midlands. Gav and the guys discussed movies that make your heart beat, twisted love stories and knitted underwear. Is Ben Wheatley the Morrissey of serial killer movies? Listen to their chat and decide for yourself!
