Pippa O’Connor has joined the voice cast of Ferdinand, an upcoming animated feature from Blue Sky Studios starring John Cena in the title role.

Directed by Carlos Saldanha (The Ice Age and Rio Franchises), the story follows Ferdinand, a bull who is captured and torn from his home after being mistaken for being dangerous. He rallies a misfit team to help him find a way back to his family.

Kate McKinnon, Gina Rodriguez, Anthony Anderson, David Tennant and Sally Philips co-star while Geri Horner, Capital FM’s Roman Kemp, YouTube sensations Georgie Fizz & Darren Fizz (@familyfizz) and Emma Conway (@brummymummyof2) as well as Pippa are lending their voices to cameo roles.

Pippa O’Connor, who will be voicing Concerned Lady, said: “I am so delighted to have a small part in Ferdinand - it’s my first time having a part in an animated movie so I jumped at the opportunity. I’m mostly excited about bringing my 4 year old Ollie to see it - he think it’s very cool that his Mama is in a movie!!”

Ferdinand hits Irish cinemas on December 16th with previews on December 9th and 10th.
