One character who's been suspiciously missing from the two trailers and various TV spots for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 is Kurt Russell's character, Ego.

It's easy to see why, as the comic-book version of Ego is that of a living planet with a beard. Yes, really. Ego was a giant planet that had a face and a beard and could talk and featured heavily in the experimental run of Marvel comics in the '60s and '70s. Think acid trips in comic form and you're on the right track.

Anyway, Ego has been missing from a lot of the promotional material, but it seems that our first look at Kurt Russell's character has finally slipped out - albeit in the form of an action figure.

Take a look.

It's largely as we expected, in that Ego takes on a human form and looks somewhat like Star-Lord in terms of fashion sense. Whether James Gunn decides to show Ego in his original form, that of a living and talking planet, remains to be seen. It's pretty crazu, but considering Doctor Strange was twenty kinds of crazy in parts and people accepted that, it's quite possible you'll see something along those lines in the film.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 hits Irish cinemas on April 28th.
