There's a lot of positive buzz behind Andy Muscietti's adaptation of It, what with Stephen King himself blessing the film after an early screening.

A new trailer is set to drop online next week, but in the meantime, a new promotional image has surfaced online which fans of the original TV miniseries - and the book itself - will remember well. It's essentially the scene in which Georgie meets Pennywise for the first time, and it looks - to us, anyway - like a very similar shot to the original TV miniseries.

Then again, how else can you shoot a scene in which a small child is talking to a prehistoric monster that masquerades as a clown from a sewer? Speaking to Empire Magazine, Andy Muscietti explained that there's a much different approach to Pennywise at work here. "There’s supposed to be a less-is-more thing in horror. It’s like you’re not really meant to show the monster. But Pennywise is different. With Pennywise, it’s like, ‘This is the monster, I’m showing it to you… and you’re going to s–t a brick.'”

It hits Irish cinemas on September 8th, 2017.
