The Chinese poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has provoked controversy. 

The controversy is in relation to the decrease in prominence of Jon Boyega's character Finn. A comparison between the UK poster and the Chinese poster highlights this. 

This was first brought to the public's attention by twitter user Guy Lambert (@SohoGuy) with the below tweet. 

The discrepancy between the two has caused a strong reaction on twitter with many fans not impressed. The removal of fan favourite Chewbacca is also a sore point.

This isn't the first controversy involving Boyega involvement in the film with the British actor having to endure racial abuse in October when twitter trolls started the hashtag #BoycottStarWarsVII.
