Expectations couldn’t be higher for the new Halloween movie, especially since it was announced last September that Jamie Lee Curtis, who owes a fair chunk of her fame to playing Laurie Strode in multiple Halloween films from the original to Halloween: Resurrection in 2002, would be starring.

The new film comes from hit studio Blumhouse (who were behind Get Out, Insidious, The Purge, Paranormal Activity and Sinister, to name just some of their successes) and is to be directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green and Danny McBride.

Curtis is pictured with Green in the image she has shared from the set’s first day of filming, and we honestly love the retro look as her hair and outfit recalls her character’s from 40 years ago:

The new Halloween movie will be a direct continuation of the original film (ignoring the other films of the canon) and hits cinemas on October 19th 2018.
