Oooh how exciting; check out the brand new poster for Star Trek: Into Darkness. No prizes for guessing who that is; why it can only be our main man Benedict Cumberbatch surveying all that he's destroyed. Very teasing indeed. But what's his viewpoint, is he gazing out into the open from a very devastated Starfleet? Is he gazing at a futuristic London cityscape? Good to see the gherkin's still standing. Where's Captain Kirk when you need him! Well he's chatting to me actually, watch that video here! Director JJ Abrahms is known for keeping his cards very close to his chest so we doubt we'll be clear on anything 'til the movie is literally out in cinemas. Until then, we've got this poster and this synopsis to tide us over...

"When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew."
