Naomi Watts is making quite the name for herself as the go to girl for biopics. By all accounts she's done a stellar job with her portrayal of Princess Diana (which we'll get to see next year) and now she's said to star as Marilyn Monroe in Blonde, which is due to start filming in 2013.

At the helm of Blonde will be Killing Them Softy director Andrew Dominik. Blonde had previously been shelved as Dominik wanted to go full steam ahead with his Brad Pitt starrer, but now his calendar's wide open, his dream project can at last come to fruition. Desite reports that Watts had gone elsewhere, Dominik assures us she's still very much attached.

Speaking to The Playlist regarding the film, Dominik said: "It's about her whole life... It starts when she's 7 and it ends when she dies. I love it... It's my dream project and I've been working on it for years and years and years." An "emotional nightmare fairy tale", this is certainly one to keep an eye out for.

Any other actresses you'd consider for the role of Monroe?
