Alien: Covenant wrapped earlier this year but details on the film so far have been kept (expectedly) under wraps.

Fortunately, Michael is never one to let us down, and in an interview with Collider, he gave some clues as to what to expect in the new film.

Fassbender’s character is one of the few cast members returning from Prometheus for its sequel, which is also a prequel to Alien. He will be reprising the role of David, who a new exploration crew from the ‘Covenant’ ship discover as a sole survivor on a lonely planet.

‘This Alien is going to be… I’m very excited to see it and everybody in the film was saying this is a film that we all want to see,’ he said.

He explained that the film is ‘much scarier than Prometheus’ but has ‘the same sort of scope’ as its predecessor.

He continued: ‘ It’s kind of got more of the sort of thriller, imminent disaster feel that Alien had, so it’s kind of a beautiful meeting of both of those films. I’m really excited to see it, I think it’s gonna be super scary number one and then again with the massive scope of Prometheus…

‘Once it starts and the ball starts rolling, it doesn’t let up. It’s really gonna bring chills to the cinema.’

So here’s the info we deduct from all that – the film will be thrilling, scary, loyal to the franchise, and similar to Alien.

Well, you couldn’t hope for much better.

The film is set for release in 2017.
