Here we go again... Michael Fassbender last night won British Actor of the Year at the London Film Critic Awards.

Naturally this has upset quite a few people in Ireland, and probably Germany, as he was born there and raised here - hence that distinctively paddy accent. I asked Fassbender about such claims off camera when I interviewed him for Shame back in December and got, "When I make a shit film no one will wanna claim me" which is a damn fair point, but we'll really still take what we can get. Fassbender turned up to accept the gong anyway and is actually based in London.

He's bad enough, but when you consider that Saoirse Ronan and Brendan Gleeson were also nominated in similar categories it gets really silly.
