Michael Fassbender is currently one of the most in-demand, and thus busiest actors in Hollywood. He's got critically lauded parts in Shame and A Dangerous Method due for release, and is also in next summer's big event movie, Prometheus.
Naturally, he's being linked with various roles, but seems to get involved with more productions from the ground up which is a good sign, creatively. Now, according to Variety, he's looking likely to work with Rise of the Planet of the Apes director, Rupert Wyatt in Londongrad. The film is based on the true story of former Soviet KGB officer Alexander Litvinenko, who was poisoned by a substance called polonium-210 in 2006. He blamed the Russian secret service and Vladimir Putin before dying. Fassbender would take on the Litvinenko role.
Johnny Depp is producing the film, and was attached to star at one point with none other than Michael Mann directing. It's unclear if the superstar will still make an appearance.
