Matthew McConaughey's drastic weight loss for next movie role
Holy Moses. That's NOT Bruce Jenner, that's Magic Mike muscle-man Matthew McConaughey. Goes to show how beneficial a few muscles can be, eh?
Now don't panic; Matthew'd hardly go through this drastic (and less attractive) change for the craic. While these pics of him looking rather emaciated were taken on the set of the Scorses flick, The Wolf of Wall Street, which is currently filming in NYC, it's actually for his forthcoming film - The Dallas Buyer's Club - that the actor's shed the pounds.
In this film, McConaughey plays the role of a Texan electrician Ron Woodroof, who contracts AIDS through drug usage in the late '80s. Clearly, McConaughey takes his acting as serious as Christian Bale who, you'll remember, shed serious weight for his roles in The Machinist, The Fighter and Rescue Dawn. Commenting this very severe dieting, said recently to Larry King: "I'm playing a guy who was sick and would have loved to have been healthier but wasn't... For me, it's more of a mental thing than a physical thing. I'll get down to the weight I need to get to. I'm on my way, and it's what I need to do for the job."
