Matthew McConaughey is taking a break from making films to pass on his knowledge to the next generation of filmmakers.

Alongside director Gary Ross, McConaughey will deliver a film studies class to about thirty lucky students at his alma mater - The University of Texas, Austin. Matthew earned his Bachelor's degree from the university in 1993, studying Radio, Television and Film. He has maintained a connection to the school through his support of their football team, the Longhorns. They sent out this tweet last week to announce the good news:

The class will be presented through a series of pre-recorded videos, giving students an insight into what it's like behind the scenes on a film set. McConaughey has also committed to attending one class in person.

The Texan actor has an impressive body of work to draw upon when giving advice to students; his credits include Dallas Buyers Club, Interstellar, The Wolf of Wall Street, Dazed and Confused, and True Detective.

We wonder if any of the students will be brave enough to bring up Fool's Gold, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past or bongo playing...
