Martin Scorsese's Hugo Loses $80 Million At Box-Office

Despite a bucket load of award nominations and wins, the Martin Scorsese kiddie flick, Hugo, is facing a loss of about $80 million says The Hollywood Reporter.

Scorsese is apparently having issues with its producer, Graham King, who he has had an extremely prosperous relationship with since they started working together a decade ago with Gangs of New York. Hugo grossed a strong $181 million at the worldwide box-office, but reportedly cost $180 million to make. It would have needed to do Pixar numbers to turn a strong profit, and now looks likely to lose its financers a fortune.

King was due to do another project with Scorsese, but the Oscar winner has shelved it in favour of working with long-time muse, Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.
