Mark Wahlberg was paid 1500 times more than Michelle Williams for All the Money in the World reshoot

Ridley Scott and the production team behind the film were praised for their actions in removing Kevin Spacey from 'All the Money in the World' so close to its release but now it turns out that Mark Wahlberg made significant bank out of the reshoots, bringing controversy back to the film's door.

According to USA Today, Wahlberg was paid $1.5 million for his part in the reshoots for 'All the Money in the World', while Michelle Williams was paid an $80 per diem which came to less than $1,000.

Ridley Scott previously told USA Today that everyone, bar Christopher Plummer, would be doing the film "for nothing", saying:

RIDLEY SCOTT: “The whole reshoot was — in normal terms was expensive but not as expensive as you think. Because all of them, everyone did it for nothing.”

USA TODAY: “Really?”

SCOTT: “No, I wouldn’t get paid, I refused to get paid.”

USA TODAY: “You didn’t pay the actors more to do it?”

SCOTT: “No, they all came in free. Christopher had to get paid. But Michelle, no. Me, no. I wouldn’t do that to — ”

USA TODAY: “The crew, of course, did get paid?”

SCOTT: “Of course. "

The fact that he mentioned both himself and Williams but not Wahlberg is now quite glaring.

According to USA Today, Wahlberg's team actually negotiated the fee and Williams, who is represented by the same company as Wahlberg, the William Morris Endeavor agency, wasn't told.

At the time, Williams commented on the reshoots and the decision to remove Spacey and replace him with Christopher Plummer, saying:"I said I’d be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me. And they could have my salary, they could have my holiday, whatever they wanted. Because I appreciated so much that they were making this massive effort."

The news hasn't gone unnoticed by their peers.

Michelle Williams is genuinely kind and open and all about the art. Exactly the sort of person taken advantage of by the business, exactly the sort of thing agents etc are supposed to prevent.

Wahlberg was Forbes' highest paid actor of last year, taking in $68 million before tax.
