If Mark Wahlberg was the type to kick himself he would be right now, but instead he is kicking his agent. He has revealed that he missed out on producing the Fifty Shades of Grey movie but they lost a bidding war.

According to E! Online, he said, 'We were aware of the book from very early on, and we were close to securing the rights, and then we get into this bidding war.'

'We were so close to having [it]. That was one of the few times I was going to fire Ari.' Ari Emanuel, Mark's real life agent that is, not Ari Gold from Entourage.

And imagine this scenario - if things had gone his way, Brad Pitt may have been the actor in Christian Grey's shoes. When the film's producer joked that Mr. Grey 'looks a lot like Mark Wahlberg', Marky immediately replied 'No, sounds like Brad Pitt to me.'

We can see it, kind of, if they could do the Benjamin Button style anti-aging effects on him. Sorry Brad.

The Fifty Shades movie starring Jamie Dornan in the titular role and Dakota Johnson is in production and should be released just in time for Valentine's Day 2015.
