Mark Ruffalo Joins Steve Carrell In Foxcatcher
The very awesome Mark Ruffalo (who we will have an interview with this time next week) is in talks to play Olympic gold medal-winning wrestler David Schultz in Moneyball director Bennett Miller's real life drama, Foxcatcher reports Variety.
Steve Carrell is already attached to star as John du Pont, who was a schizophrenic murderer. In 1996, he shot and killed his close friend, 36-year-old champion wrestler Schultz (Ruffalo). Channing Tatum is also attached as Mark Schultz, David's younger brother who was an Olympic champion wrestler too. Looks like a very different film for the main players involved and it's great to see Carrell get more dramatic work - he's an extremely talented actor, as is Ruffalo.
Production will begin in October, so expect this to knock around Oscar time next year.
