Marco Pierre White is one of the world's most recognisable chefs and his journey to the top of the game is one that's ripe for a big-screen adaptation.
The rights to his career and his book, The Devil In The Kitchen, are now in the hands of Ridley Scott who's eager to get cooking (heh) on the film. Earlier this week, White confirmed that a script is being written which will be finished before the end of the year, although didn't offer the writer's name.
"Ridley Scott has agreed with him that he has first option once the script is finished... The script starts on the first of September and will be finished by the end of the year," explained White in a recent interview.
Despite the inclusion of both Michael Fassbender and Ridley Scott, White has said that it's unlikely he'll watch the completed film as he doesn't own a television.
It was rumoured that Tom Hardy would also be up for the role, but with both Ridley Scott and Marco Pierre White in agreement, it looks like the role is there for Fassbender.
Marco Pierre White began his career at the age of 16 under the tutelage of Michel Roux before rising to the top of his industry. White retired from cooking in 1999 and now runs a string of successful restaurants, as well as appearing on the upcoming season of The Restaurant on TV3 where he'll replace the recently passed Paolo Tullio.
