You haven't even seen number one and yet you know it's just going to be the absolute bomb-diggity. Now get ready for more mind-blowing news; the sequel is already in the pipeline. News is that the Man of Steel makers Warner Bros have given the go-ahead for a second feature film based on the Superman franchise.

Both the director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S Goyer will return for part two of the saga as Goyer has a three part deal with the studio that comprises of two standalone Superman films and inclusion in one Justice League film. However, Christopher Nolan, the genius behind the latest Batman films, will not have as central a role in this Superman sequel. According to Deadline, his role as producer will not be as "full blown" as in the first of the series. Elusive explanation...he better not just be making the coffee.The man revived Batman people, he is a superhero himself.

Little else has been confirmed yet but it's likely the cast will remain relatively in tact for the sequel. Man of Steel opens Friday 14th in cinemas and stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe.
