Wouldn’t this be amazing??

Wonder Woman is doing phenomenally well and as of this week, it can also boast having the best hold of any superhero movie in over 15 years.

Gal Gadot takes on the titular Amazonian princess in the film but Lynda Carter’s take on the role back in the 70s TV series of the same name was also hugely popular.

It just makes sense to combine these wonder women – along with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins – and it seems that Carter would be very happy to do a movie in the franchise.

Speaking to People, she explained: "We were trying to get me in the first one and we couldn't make it work with our timing.

"Am I open to (the sequel)? Absolutely. I ADORE [director] Patty Jenkins, and it'll be wonderful to do. But we'll just see how that goes.

"It really is up to Patty, and if it works in an organic way it'll be great fun and it'll be wonderful to do."

Carter also spoke about how delighted she was with Jenkins’ direction: "She knows who this character is. Because Wonder Woman — it’s the idea of her. It’s not about superpowers, it’s about her intellect and compassion. It’s so much more than some comic book character, because we identify with it.

"Women are coming out of the movie feeling emboldened, feeling good about themselves. Because that’s who we are. We are half the world, and we want to be represented as half the world."
