London premiere of Argo: Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston, John Goodman
The excitement is mounting in entertainment.ie as tomorrow Bryan Cranston arrives into town not just for the Irish premiere screening of Argo (which also marks the launch of JDIFF), but also to chat to us. Yes, US! Last night saw the London premiere at LFF and all the lads were there in style; Ben Affleck, John Goodman and of course, Heisenberg himself.
As you're probably aware by now, Argo was one of the best Hollywood movies that never got made. Directed by Ben Affleck, this political thriller centres on the very real events of the Iran Hostage Crisis of 1979 - 81. Affleck stars here as CIA exfiltration expert Tony Mendez, who created a fake Hollywood production - named Argo - with the hopes of safely extricating six American hostages out of a very sticky situation. It's probably one of the best movies we've seen all year. Oscar bells are already ringing.
Bryan Cranston stars as Mendez' CIA boss - a role far removed from Walter White. A fantastically diverse actor, we'll have that interview live on site for you tomorrow. In the mean time, as we ogle at these pics of Ben Affleck's cheese-grating-worthy jawline, any Qs for the Cranstonator?
