There have been rumours of a Mean Girls sequel pretty much since the first one came out back in 2004, and even though none of them have been very substantial it hasn't stopped the likes of Rachel McAdams aka Regina George saying that she'd be up for Part 2.

The cult favourite is even being turned into a musical which will debut next year - but if Lindsay Lohan has her way, a sequel to the film will be made at some point.

Lohan starred in the original film and in a recent interview with CNN via Facebook Live, she said that she's even written a treatment/story outline for the sequel.

“I have been trying so hard to do a Mean Girls 2. It is not in my hands," she said. "I know that Tina Fey, and Lorne Michaels and all of Paramount are very busy. But I will keep forcing it and pushing it on them until we do it.”

She also had some casting suggestions for her sequel, including Jamie Lee Curtis and Jimmy Fallon. "I have already written a treatment for it. I just need a response," she said. "I know Mark Waters, the director; he’d happily come back.”
