The Mamma Mia sequel, imaginatively titled Here We Go Again, is gathering speed like a runaway train that it is hurtling toward a populated area that will kill hundreds and destroy local wildlife in the process.

As we previously reported, the sequel will see Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan, Amanda Seyfied and Christine Baranski return and a newcomer will be joining them - Baby Driver's Lily James.

According to a report by THR, James will play the younger version of Meryl Streep's character, Donna, with the film flicking back and forth in time to show how the relationships between the main characters developed. James already has a background in musicals, having starred and sang in Kenneth Branagh's live-action remake of Cinderella.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again hits Irish cinemas on July 20th, 2018.
