After only just complaining that it's a bit odd that we haven't seen any footage from Solo: A Star Wars Story, we're now graced with two teasers in the space of day - all of which we're now going to pick over in excruciating detail.

The initial reaction does seem relatively positive, but by far the reveal of Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian - complete with cape and facial hair - seems to have won everyone over so far. On top of that, you've got a spickety-span Millennium Falcon - which has you asking how it go so dirty in the first place - and Alden Ehrenreich matching Harrison Ford for volumised hair, but not in terms of looking or sounding like him.

Whatever the case may be, there's a lot to unpack. We'll start off with...

That's definitely the dashboard for the Millennium Falcon, and look how shiny it is!

So, we're guessing before he got behind said dashboard, Han Solo was basically Fast And Furious of the Star Wars galaxy, and took part in illegal street-racing. Makes sense, considering what we know of the character already.

BOOM. First reference to A New Hope. Those are the same gloves that Han Solo wore when he flew the Millennium Falcon off of Tattooine and evaded the TIE Fighters. Yes, we checked. Yes, we're right.

"I was kicked out of the flight academy for having a mind of my own..." By all accounts, it looks like this is going to take it from whippersnapper Han Solo up to relatively young Han Solo, before leading on into mid-thirties Han Solo in A New Hope.

"I'm gonna be a pilot, best in the galaxy." Not with that fur-coat you're not, Solo. Also, for people suggesting this is Hoth. It isn't. It's definitely not Hoth. Also, if that coat turns out to be Wookiee hair and he befriends Chewbacca, that's gonna be awk-ward.

So how exactly did the Millennium Falcon come to get that grotty and browned? To be fair, anyone with white painted walls indoors will tell you they're a b*tch to keep clean, so it's likely that it's just years and years of paw-marks that turned it that way. Either that or Solo took up smoking and they just naturally turned brown from years of, well, smoking. That's disgusting if so.

"I'm putting together a crew..." That's our first look at Woody Harrelson's character / mentor, Tobias Beckett. Initially, people thought he'd be playing the character Garris Shrike, who largely did the same role - act as a mentor to young Han Solo - but apparently, his name's Beckett. Nice beard action going on, Woody Harrelson.

You may know her as Daenarys, but after this, you'll be calling Emilia Clarke as Qi'ra - which we're deciding here and now is pronounced Ciara.

Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian is the greatest casting decision made in the Star Wars franchise thus far. Please @ us so we can tell you how utterly wrong you are.

That's Thandie Newton as Val. Not a whole lot is known about her character so far, except that she carries a big gun and looks Very Serious. Does the V in Val stand for Very Serious? Who knows.

No word that we know of on who this character is. If he turns out to be voiced by Clint Howard, we'll flip.

"That's yes." CHEWIE! YOU BIG WALKING RUG! Also, why the extra bandolier thing?

That's L3-37, who's voiced and mo-capped by Phoebe Waller-Bridge - best known for Fleabag, Crashing and Broadchurch. Our guess is she's Lando's assistant droid and fully expect that little flick / salute thing to be the go-to .gif of 2018.

"I might be the only person who knows you really are." Our guess is Qi'Ra / Emilia Clarke and Solo / Alden Ehrenreich form some kind of romantic entanglement along the way and she ends up betraying him for money - hence why she's never mentioned again in the series, and provides a way for us to understand why Han Solo was so cynical and money-driven in A New Hope. Also, if Lando Calrissian does a musical number in this with the band on the top image, the internet is going to collapse in on itself.

BOOM. Another visual reference to A New Hope. That little unlatching thing was done when Solo shot Greedo under the table and you can bet there's going to be some kind of nod / reference / whatever to Solo shooting first. Count on it.

This is Moloch, who featured in the Superbowl trailer and is likely going to play one of the villains in this. He's played by stuntman Harley Durst, so our guess is he won't have a huge amount of dialogue and will likely occupy the same role as Darth Maul - i.e., henchman for the big bad.

If you want to know HOW deeply we're going into this, this will tell it to you - that explosion doesn't look like it could be caused by the Death Star. Our guess? We think it's from Boba Fett's ship, the Slave I. If you recall in the Clone Wars, you had that scene where Jango Fett was chasing Obi-Wan Kenobi through the asteroid belt and he used those sonic charge thingys that had that delayed noise. Remember? Explosion looks very similar to them. Plus, you just know that Boba Fett is going to turn up in this film. He has to. He can't not. So, yeah, our guess is this is Boba Fett getting involved in some shape or form.

Right, let's admit that Alden Ehrenreich doesn't look a whole lot like Harrison Ford. We can all agree to that. But if he's playing a much younger version of him, surely he's allowed to do his own thing? He just has to capture the essence of the character. He's the best choice for the character, by far, so it remains to be seen if he can live up to the pressure.

Yes, that's a bunch-load of TIE fighters chasing the Millennium Falcon through some kind of weird tempest thing. Our bet? This is, in fact, the famed Kessel Run which they made in twelve parsecs. Also, if you look closely at the Falcon's front, you can see that the little gap thingy is covered over. Our guess is when that eventually breaks off or something, it'll be this big reveal moment of, "Oh, THIS is when it became the Millennium Falcon."

"I thought we were in trouble for a second there, but we're fine. We're fine." Wait for it...

GIANT SQUID SPACE MONSTER. Again, put money down now because this is definitely famed Kessel Run and this thing is part of it.

So, that's about everything we can pull from it so far. No doubt there'll be a full trailer in the months to come. Solo: A Star Wars Story hits Irish cinemas on May 25th and we'll have a full review before then.
