Kurt Russell's enjoying a nice little career resurgence of late, thanks in part to Quentin Tarantino and the fact that Kurt Russell's actually amazing.

Having turned in what many are calling one of his best performances in years with The Hateful Eight, Russell's now being eyed up for a huge number of large-scale films in the new year. One in particular that stands out is Marvel's follow-up to the wildly successful Guardians of the Galaxy.

James Gunn and Marvel are reportedly due to meet with Russell in the near future with a view to offering him a key role in the film. What's that role? Look away now if you don't spoilers.

... Chris Pratt's on-screen father.

RIGHT? He'd be perfect for it, we think. Russell and Pratt both have that really dry, sarcastic humour and with the right script, it could be something special. Not only that, they do look somewhat physically similar. Think Russell around the time of Big Trouble In Little China or Overboard and you can see a certain similarity.

Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol.2 is aiming high with its casting, having already tried to rope in Matthew McConaughey for a villainous role, however he reportedly turned it down.

We'll know in the next few months as to whether or not Russell signs on, but here's hoping he does.
